For this, you need to know your audience. What *would* be fun for your volunteers? Some people are competitive and might respond well to a contest with publicly available tracking and prizes. Some are cooperative and might enjoy working together as a team to “earn” something for the whole group. Some groups are more formal in tone and need to communicate that way, but some are less formal and might want to communicate using humor. Make it easy.
